Vietnamese Cover Bands
As rock music started to gain popularity among the South Vietnamese people, young Vietnamese musicians started forming cover bands. These cover bands would perform in clubs and on militry bases for American soldiers.
CBC Band Performs Live
The first international rock concert was held in Saigon in May 1971. The concert featured many local Vietnam rock bands. Headlining the event was the CBC Band, which was a young and popular Vietnamese rock group.
Live Performances on Militray Bases
Vietnamese cover bands playing popular American rock songs became the primary form of entertainmentt for American soldiers. Local abrs and clubs would be filled with soldiers at night and vietnamese bands would be asked to go onto military bases to perform for soldiers away from the conflict.
